Things With Wings

Hello Lovely Blogger Friends!

Oh it feels like forever since I posted. Life has been a bit of a rollercoaster of late. I started my new job and that meant a return to the dreaded 1.5 hour commute to the office, plus lots of meetings and inductions and, interestingly, tours of bakeries.

Here is some trivia for you. One of my new company's bakeries is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and produces 1.9 million loaves of bread each week. That's a LOT of bread!!

After my first week at work I had a week off where I holidayed to the Gold Coast with friends. I could really get into this 'work one week, take one week off' business, but sadly it was just something I'd already organised and paid for and my new employers were happy enough for me to go. In typical Tracey fashion, after successfully avoiding all the various colds and flus while working, I got sick on holidays. I'm almost better now and last night I fortunately redisovered my crafty mojo just in time for our latest challenge at The Squirrel & The Fox:

THINGS WITH WINGS

Our sponsor is once again the fabulous Bugaboo and they are offering our winner 7 digi stamps of their choice. The DT and I were lucky enough to use their images for our DT work and here's mine:

My image was coloured with copics and everything - that's right - everything else was from my stash. Leaving my work until the last minute meant I had to cobble this one together from things I already had in my crafty supplies, for midnight crafty shops are still on my wish list. At 1am I finished cutting and colouring and then I had to set my alarm for 7.30am to finish it this morning.

I used my Die-Namics ribbon border punch and various Spellbinder dies. The lace flowers were a last minute addition when I violently took against the buttons I had planned to use originally. I am so pleased to use them again, they are just beautiful. I dug out my very first Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the swirls on the blue cardstock. The pearl stick-ons are a lovely pale blue, but it's hard to see that in the photo.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday today, whatever you decide to get up to.

Also entered into the following challenges:

Crafty Emma - Pearls and Swirls
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - Things with Wings
Truly Scrumptious - Lace
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - To Die For
The Ribbon Carousel - Spring is in the air
The Crafter's Cafe - Spring with Pastel Colours
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Pearls and Lace

Hi Tracey ~ Happy Easter to you! Thank you for your kind words, I just had to come visit you as well. An hour & a half commute? Yikes! I am thankful for my 20 minute commute! I was going to guess Chicago but I see you are in Australia! I have another online Australian stamping friend, we love learning about each others "catchphrases". Your card is just adorable, love those colors together!

Such a beautiful creation, and at 1 in the morning?! The world does not need to see my early morning coloring... But seriously, the colors are gorgeous on this and I love those lacy flowers!!
I can't imagine your commute! It takes me more time to get ready in the morning than it does for me to drive to work-this is both a blessing AND a curse!
