Best Friends and a DT Call

Hello All,

After a brief delay due to Internet troubles, I am here to announce a very special challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox, as well as a DT Call.

Our special challenge theme is

BEST FRIENDS

Our challenge is once again sponsored by Bugaboo - they are offering our lucky winner 7 digi images of their choice from their online store.

Linda and I chose this theme for our second May challenge to celebrate our friendship, for the date falls between both our birthdays. Linda and I have been friends since we met in High School, two fresh faced Year 7 students, only 11 years old. It seems like a lifetime ago, I can barely remember a time we weren't friends. I feel very grateful for her friendship, so for my digi image from Bugaboo I chose "Cow'nt Your Blessings".

My image was coloured with copics, and all papers are from My Mind's Eye. I have sponged the edges of everything with Distress Ink and gave the sewing machine another whirl for some very crooked stitching to affix some of the papers to the cardstock.

Sadly one of our DT members has had to step down due to other commitments. The lovely Lisa has left us, so we are also having a DT Call for not just one, but two spots on our Design Team.

To find out how to become part of The Squirrel and The Fox family, please visit the challenge blog for details.

I am also entering this little card into the following challenge:

The Lollipop Ladies - Freckles & spots

Thanks for visiting, and for your lovely comments as always.

Feel better little bear!

It's the 15th of the month and that means two exciting things. Firstly it's pay day (and yay for that) and secondly, it's time for another challenge at Sparkles!

Our theme for this month is

GET WELL SOON

For my DT work I purchased a brand new stamp from Meljen's Designs - Sick Little Bear. He's the most adorable little fellow, every time I look at him with his little thermometer in his mouth and his scrunched up tissues I just 'awww'.

As the last card I made as a Get Well Card was a girly one, I thought I'd keep this one more masculine, for a sick little boy or perhaps the next victim of the dreaded 'man flu'.

I coloured the image with copics and then simply layered the card over some light purple cardstock with three rows of purple ribbon. I used my swirly cuttlebug embossing folder on some teal cardstock.

Our sponsor for our challenge this month is Di's Digis, who are offering our winner a $10 voucher for their online store.

Get Well Cards are one of my favourite types of cards. There's something extra uplifting about a card when you are feeling poorly. My teammates have made some lovely cards - visit us at Sparkles Monthly Challenges to see them in all their glory.

Also entered into the following challenges:

Craft Your Days Away - All Creatures Great & Small
Allsorts Challenge Blog - A Card for Man or Boy
Totally Papercrafts - No Pesky Girls Allowed
Pixie Dust Studio - For the boys

I hope you all have a fabulous week!

One For The Girls

A big sunshine-y hello from me!

Yes, despite it being the countdown to Winter and the start of some very cold (by my standards) weather, this weekend Sydney has turned on the sunshine and it's a lovely Autumn Day. I am always happiest when I can see blue sky, so my plans for the day are to get out there and enjoy it.

But not before I tell you that it's time for a new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox. This time our theme is

ONE FOR THE GIRLS

We are excited to welcome a new sponsor for this challenge - Tickled Pink Stamps. TPS are offering our lucky winner two digi stamps from their Lil Lolita, Lil Lad or Lil Pinkette ranges. You simply must check them out - you would be hard pressed to choose!

For my DT piece I was lucky enough to use the digi image Lil Pinkette Easter August. She's the cutest little girl, so dainty and sweet.

My colours were inspired by the current challenge at Card Makin' Mamas - pink, orange, blue and greens. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and my image is coloured with copics. Here's a close up of my Lil Pinkette.

The glittery silver mesh ribbon, bling and cardstock are from my stash. I debated long and hard about adding something more - some flowers, buttons etc, but in the end I settled on leaving this card somewhat simple to show off that gorgeous paper.

I hope you'll join us for our challenge.

I am also entering this little card into the following challenges:

Card Makin' Mamas - picture inspiration
Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Southern Girls - Get Your Girly On
Shopping Our Stash - Mother's Day or Anything Girly
